Class LR (Light Rigid) Licence
 
Unit of competency - TLIC2002A
 
Pre-Requisites
  • Minimum ages - 17.5 years
  • Must have held a class car licence for at least 12 months (including ?P? Plates)
  • Complete a training declaration form prior to training
Training and Vehicle on Road Test (VORT)
 
VORT lessons - We may suggest a minimum of 3 hours training before undertaking the Vehicle on Road Test.
The test could be done after the completion of the training either on the same day or thereafter.
 
Skills required for a VORT are: -
  • System of vehicle control
  • Road law
  • Safe and competent driver
  • Driving in busy traffic
  • Uphill and down hill Starts
  • Reversing
  • Reverse parallel parking
  • U-turn
Logbook Format Competency Based Training (CBT)
  • Training will depend on the Government standard as per the Logbook format.
  • Average time to attain competency - 9 Hours which can be conducted in one day or over several days. (May take more time depending on the ability and aptitude of the driver).
Fees (GST Free)
  • Transport SA booking fee of $30.00, which is included in the cost of the initial training. If additional training is required, an additional booking fee may be charged.
  • Transport SA charges an administration fee of approximately $15.00 (price may vary) to upgrade a licence on a successful completion of the training (payable to Transport SA).
  • Payment is due on the day of the training, or an account may be arranged at our discretion.

Pre-Requisites

Class C (Car) to Class HC (Heavy - Combination) Licence
 
Unit of Competency - TLIC3005A

Pre-Requisites

  • Must have held a car licence for at least 2 years.
  • Must hold a learners permit for class HC before commencing and practical training.

Theory Course (7.30am-5.30pm)

  • It is compulsory to attend the 2-day theory course (18 hours). At the completion of this course, you will be issued with a letter of agreement and a certificate. The letter is to be taken to Transport SA to obtain your learners permit (a fee will be applicable for the learners permit).

Lessons start at 1.5 hours in duration, up to whatever the student requires (3,4,5,6,7.5 or 9 hours). Lessons can be conducted Monday to Saturday, between 6.30am and 5.30pm. All training is conducted on a one-on-one basis.

Class HC (Heavy - Combination) Licence

Pre-Requisites
  • Must have held a class Mr or HR licence for at least 12 months.
  • Must complete a training declaration form prior to training.
Training and Vehicle on Road Test (VORT)
  • Vehicle on Road Test lessons - we may suggest a minimum of 4.5 hours training before undertaking the Vehicle On Road Test.
  • The test could be done after the completion if the training either on the same day or thereafter.
Skills required for a VORT are: -

Class MC (Multi - Combination) Licence -

Unit of Competency - TLIC4006A

Pre-Requisites
  • Must have held a class HR or HC licence for at least 12 months
  • Must complete a training declaration form prior to training
Logbook Format Competency Based Training (CBT)
  • Training will depend on the Government standard as per the Logbook format.
  • The average time taken for a log book course is 12 hours, however this may change dependent on the ability and aptitude of the student.
Must be competent in the following areas:
  • Coupling and Uncoupling
  • Use of Road Ranger gearbox including double de-clutching.
  • Driving a loaded Multi-Combination vehicle through the hills and free-way areas.
  • Sufficient knowledge to achieve competency in a commercial road law exam.
  • Turning
  • Reversing
  • Manoeuvring a Multi-Combination Vehicle.
Course Procedure
 
1 day course, 6.00am - 6.00pm, including a 2-3 theory module conducted in the morning.
